One Way Van Hire

We often get asked about one way van hire, in particular with regards to moving house. So here's a brief summary of the options available to you.

As of 2011 more of the large van hire companies are offering one way van hire.

This includes Hertz, National, Europcar and Sixt.

However pricing and availability vary considerably and often only limited drop off and pick up locations are supported, in addition expect to pay considerably more.

Unless there is an overwhelming reason to choose one way van hire most of the time you are better off simply returning the van to where you picked it up, as generally it will be cheaper and simpler, and mean you'll have more van hire locations to choose from.

Finally for international one way van hire, this is almost impossible although there have recently been one or two small rental companies offering this to popular locations in Europe, such as Spain or France - but this is certainly not cheap and we have no information on how well it works.
